Beatrice
Lang
Galerie für Schmuck Named after its founder, the gallery Beatrice Lang
- Galerie für Schmuck, opened its doors in 2005. Located in
one of the centenary Béarnaise streets under the arcades,
the gallery stands out for its modern interior. A big glass acts
as a wall and show-window at the same time, allowing total sight
into the gallery. One of the walls is covered with a long mural,
like a blackboard, where the names of the artists are written every
time. Along this surface, little light boxes host the jewellery and
objects that are displayed in a very careful and individualized way.
The display concept tells already about the main motivation of the
gallerist: from the wall cabinet-like structure into the free space
in front, it is offered a flexible, changing space for creativity
in contemporary jewellery, open to new expressions and new ways of
communicating.
Beatrice Lang shows renowned Swiss artists and has
an exclusive selection of international work. She also supports the
young Swiss talents and establishes collaboration with schools and
other groups coming from all Europe, in order to make visible the
latest and youngest developments in contemporary jewellery.
The gallery
organizes six exhibitions every year and promotes parallel events
that inform and attract a wider audience. Show-room, meeting point
and laboratory, Beatrice Lang - Galerie für Schmuck works
to raise interest and passion for wearing and collecting contemporary
jewellery.
